Administrative departments of Sindh Government have been directed to complete the preparatory arrangements regarding fresh recruitment to be made against vacancies. Sindh Cabinet has already approved lifting of ban on appointments subjected to the policy to be approved by Chief Minister Sindh and issued by the Services, General Administration & Co-ordination Department, formal orders in this regard are likely to be issued soon.
Secretary General, Administration Regulation Wing has floated a summary to the Governor/Chief Minister, Sindh for change in the Sindh Public Service Commission (Functions) Rules, 1990, recommending withdrawal of the posts in 88-II to IS from its purview. The Regulation Wing will notify the same as soon as the approval from the Competent Authority is obtained.
The Cabinet Committee, formed by Chief Ministers Sindh on February 12 decided that written test followed by interviews would be held for Posts in BS-5 and above, whereas, for posts in BS-1-4 only interviews would be conducted. The existing vacancies need to be split basic pay scale on district, region and province wise. Departments should constitute selection committees at district, regional and provincial levels. Advertisements should indicate categories of the posts on Districts, Regional and Provincial basis.
In view of the fact that there was ban on employment for more than 10 years, general age relaxation for ten years in upper age limit is allowed to those who have crossed the initial age limit besides rules, quotas etc on initial appointments are to be strictly adhered to.
A committee headed by Chief Minister Sindh comprising of Ministers Mines and Minerals, Industries and Labour, Irrigation and Power, Information Technology and the Chief Secretary will oversee and monitor the whole process of recruitment. In case of any doubt the Ministers may seek clarification from the Monitoring Committee.
As per decision of the Cabinet Committee meeting, Secretary (GA)/ Regulation Wing has already been directed for processing a summary for amendment in Rule 4 (I) of Sindh Civil Servants (APT) Rules, 1974, pertaining to the classification of Appointing Authorities.
