The Sui Northern Gas Company SNGPL) has provided 185,000 new gas connections to its consumers in NWFP during the current financial year besides completing various development schemes worth Rs 12 billion. Managing Director SNGPL, Rashid Lone disclosed this in a briefing regarding oil and gas development activities in the province presented to Chief Minister NWFP, Mohammad Akram Khan Durrani.
Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Amanullah Khan Jadoon, some Provincial Ministers and Secretary Petroleum also attended.
Rashid Lone informed that work for gas supply to many areas of Malakand Division was rapidly underway and all-out efforts were being made to accomplish the task within the stipulated time. CM was also informed that work on gas supply to various areas of Karak District was also on from newly discovered Gurguri gas-field and it would bring a revolutionary change in the lifestyle of people.
Minister for Petroleum said the government was according top priority to speedy development of remote and backward areas in order to ensure provision of basic amenities of life to the people. He directed SNGPL to gear up its efforts for the speedy completion of the development projects for the socio-economic progress and prosperity of the people.
Chief Minister expressed satisfaction over the pace of work on Sui gas supply projects and thanked the Minister for Petroleum and SNGPL officials for extending co-operation in this regard.
