Traders termed backbone of economy

Traders are the backbone of the economic structure of any country and by paying taxes they are playing important role to strengthen the economy of the country. Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) leader and National Assembly member Muhammad Haneef Abbasi said here on Wednesday, while addressing a general body meeting of the Traders' Association. Abbasi urged upon the traders to play their role for creating fraternal atmosphere in the city during Muharram-ul-Haram, and said, "it is imperative on the part of every individual to discourage the people creating sectarian unrest in the country."
Expressing concern over increase in the petroleum oil lubricants (POL) and gas prices, Abbasi said it had over-burdened the people and snatched from the poor people the purchasing capacity.
