Papers Manufacturers Association has announced to reduce the prices of paper by Rs 1,500 per tonne here on Saturday after a meeting held at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI). According to a LCCI's spokesman, LCCI Senior Vice-President Sohail Lashari chaired the meeting, which was also participated by LCCI Vice President Sheikh Muhammad Arshad, Kamran Khan, the head of the Papers Manufacturers Association, Khamis Saeed Butt on behalf of the paper traders, and paper manufacturers and traders.
It may be worth mentioning that the issue of paper prices had created a row for the last few days between the manufacturers and traders, and the LCCI was trying to resolve the issue amicably.
Kamran Khan assured the meeting that prices of paper would further be reduced in the future.
Speaking on the occasion, Sohail Lashari and Sheikh Muhammad Arshad said that the trader community was playing an important role in stabilisation of the national economy and it should resolve its issues through negotiation. They also thanked both the parties for accepting the proposals forwarded by the LCCI.
