Aero Asia has announced to commence operation with it's newly acquired 767 wide-bodied aircraft on Lahore-Gulf route from 23rd of this month. This aircraft will have 260 economy class seats while 18 for business class passengers, with all standard entertainment facilities aboard, Hamza Tabani, Director Operations of Aero Asia announced this in a news conference here on Wednesday. Director Field Planning Tariq Ali, Director Airport Services Idrees Noorwala and Station Manager Lahore Wing Commander (Retd) Daud Ahmed were, also present on the occasion.
At present, the airlines' fleet comprises five Boeing-737, three DC-9 and one MD-83 aircraft, he added. "We are also in process of acquiring three A-320 aircraft", he said.
With induction of 767 wide-bodied aircraft in its fleet, Aero Asia will be in a position to better serve its customers, he added.
About delay in getting permission for operation on Manchester and Europe, Director Field Planning Tariq Ali said that there is no mention of private airlines in the agreement the Government of Pakistan has with other governments. But now the government is encouraging private airlines and hopefully the issue will be settled soon. "As soon as we get permission we will start operating with 767 on this route."
Tabani maintained that the number of monthly operations of Aero Asia on international and domestic routes is 795, and now it is also expanding its operations on domestic routes and will start Karachi-Sukkur service operation from 16th of this month.
It is also providing courier and cargo services on all its international and domestic routes. "Our focus is to improve our services further for our customers, especially in flight service", he added. Areo Asia is the first airline in the private sector, which has its own ground handling facilities. It is also first airline in private sector which has the credit of having launched e-ticketing, he claimed.
