Bollywood Salman Khan's ‘Sultan’ has just touched the Rs 300 crore mark on the box office on August 10 2016. Producers Yash Raj Films (YRF) decided to get generous, not with the cast and crew of Sultan, but with the real Indian Sultans at the Rio Olympics 2016. Yash Raj Films are in the frame of mind to commemorate and contribute some of their gladness. They have planned to reward India’s gold medal winners at the Rio Olympics 2016 to motivate them for future.
According to Indian media reports, the film studio has announced in a statement that YRF will give a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh to each Indian sportsperson who clinches a gold medal at Rio 2016 in Rio de Janeiro. “YRF, India’s premier film production house walks the talk. YRF did not only make an entertaining film Sultan about a struggling athlete but is also coming forward to reward our Indian athletes at the Rio Olympics 2016. YRF has announced to honour Indian athletes competing in Rio with 10L cash reward if they win a gold for the country. This is what we call reel reaches out in real – one just doesn’t make a film on an underdog athlete but also extends it in the most genuine way to encourage the true Sultan’s and Aarfa’s at Rio. To win it for their country. To win it for themselves. Saluting every SULTAN at Rio! Every small gesture goes a long way.”
Sultan is the third highest grossing movie after ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and ‘PK’. It has garnered Rs 584 crore at the worldwide box office.
