Pakistan Navy on Friday set up a 'Board of Inquiry' to probe into the incident of outbreak of fire at its oil tanker 'PNS MOAWIN' while undergoing maintenance work at the PN Dockyard, Karachi. The board has been set up on the directives of Chief of the Naval Staff, Pakistan Navy Spokesman, Lieutenant Commander Salman Ali told PTV in Karachi. He said after the incident, Chief of the Naval Staff reached Karachi from Islamabad and went straight to the PNS Shifa Hospital to inquire about the health of injured.
Among those hurt in the accident, 55 were seriously injured and some of them are in critical condition, while 40 men received minor burn injuries, he added.
The spokesman said that all possible medical facilities are being provided to the injured. About causes of the incident he said it would be early to comment on the issue prior to the inquiry report. "It would take some time," he said.
