A delegation of Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS), led by its Chairman Lieutenant General Jahan Dad Khan (Rtd), called on President General Pervez Musharraf here on Friday. During the call, the members of the delegation briefed the President about the social welfare activities of the PRCS and presented a cheque of Rs 11 million to him. The Society has collected an amount Rs 11 million in cash and relief goods worth 4 million rupees for the President Tsunami Relief Fund.
It has also collected and distributed an amount of Rs 44 million for the relief & rehabilitation of recent rain and flood victims in Azad Kashmir, Balochistan and NWFP.
The President appreciated the socio-welfare activities of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society and hoped that it would continue to work for the victims with greater vigour and determination.
The members of the delegation also included Advisor to Prime Minister on Women Development Nilofer Bakhtiar, Sikander Javed and Javed Panni.
