Federal Ministry of Culture in collaboration with Punjab Ministry of Tourism Department is organising a three-day First TDCP Desert Rally in Cholistan from March 15. Addressing a press conference here Friday, the State Minister for Culture Sports and Youth Affairs, Mohammad Ali Durrani said people through out the country had applied for registration to take part in the 220km day-track and 168km night-track rally.
The rally, starting from Derawar fort, would have nine checkpoints. Registration fee for single vehicle will be Rs 10, 000 and Rs 50, 000 for a sponsored vehicle.
State Minister said the rally, blended with cultural performances and exhibition of domestic products, would promote soft image of the country and provide the recreation facilities to the people. Tourism Minister for Punjab, Mian Aslam and Secretary Tourism Ministry for Punjab Hassan Nawaz Tariq were also present.
The closing ceremony of the rally would be held at Noon Mahal in Bahawalpur on March 17.
