Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures were sharply higher early on Friday as investment funds continued to invest in wheat and other commodities, traders said. As of 11:00 am CST (1700 GMT), CBOT March wheat was up 10-1/2 cents at $2.50-1/2. May was up 7 cents at $3.55 after peaking at $3.57-1/2, a seven-month high. Fimat Futures was an early buyer of 200 May wheat contracts, traders said.
Cargill Investor Services sold 1,000 May shortly after the open, briefly pressuring May wheat, traders said.
