Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that attainment and promotion of alternate energy sources were among the top priorities of government and added that low cost projects available in this regard were being thoroughly examined. Talking to a Japanese delegation about windmill project here at Governor House Dr Ibad exhorted them to work by focussing on concept plan along with options like BOT, soft loan etc for its implementation.
This was an essential requirement of the province and government would provide all possible co-operation in this regard, he assured. Advisor for Environment & Alternate Energy, Noman Saigal, Provincial Secretary Shamsul Huq Memon and other officials were also present.
Meanwhile talking to a delegation of Rice Exporters Association, Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan said that 'EXPO' as an international event would be made annual feature of Karachi. President KCCI Khalid Firoz led the delegation.
Governor pointed out that Karachi was an emerging hub of the region and economic backbone of the country. He said different events would also be organised in other cities of the country.
He issued necessary instructions to concerned authorities for allotment of a piece of land for the offices of Karachi Chambers.
He called for expediting the formalities for handing over the management of Boating Basin Park to Karachi Chambers. He said it would be a goodwill gesture of the Chambers for Karachiites.
He also issued directives for making security arrangements more effective around commercial centres and godowns in old city area.
Dr Ishratul Ibad said emphasis was being laid on community policing as part of efforts for improved law and order in the province and security for the life and property of people.
He said police had been told to fully utilise all available resources in curbing crime.
