The Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal Brigadier Muhammad Sarfraz (Retd) has said that foolproof have been made for extending financial assistance to the deserving persons especially people living blow poverty line in the country. In an interview with Business Recorder on Saturday here he added that strenuous efforts were underway to serve the poor and people living in extreme poverty level in the country.
The Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal disclosed that as many as 1.25 million families were getting benefits under mega project of "Food Support Programme" in the country.
The Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal was utilising Rs 3 billion annually for providing financial assistance amounting to Rs 2400 yearly to each family in the country. Muhammad Sarfraz revealed that as many as 24,000 families of three tehsils Daska, Sialkot and Pasrur of Sialkot district were being benefited of Food Support Programme.
In addition to this the MD Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal said that adequate step had been taken for imparting handicrafts (Dast Kari) training to the women folk in the country.
The step had been taken to train the women folk in different trade fields and earn their livelihood in a respectable way in the country he said. For this purpose he said 60 training schools were functioning successfully and imparting training facilities to the women folk in the country.
Brigadier Muhammad Sarfraz (Retd) said that a well-knitted plan had also been prepared for introducing income generating skill training programme for the women community countrywide aimed at producing trained and skilled women in accordance with the local industrial sector.
Besides, he disclosed that Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal would provide financial support amounting to Rs 40, 000 to the trained women folk enabling them to purchase necessary equipment and machines for initiating their independent business.
The Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal said that one hundred schools established for rehabilitation of children engaged with child labour were successfully functioning in various parts of the country adding that free uniforms and other facilities were being provided to the children while Rs 300 per month to the parents of the children.
