A spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry Liu Jianchao has admired Pakistan for its support on the question of Taiwan and said it reflected a fair approach toward safeguarding China's integrity and peaceful national reunification. We highly appreciate Pakistan's commitment to 'One-China' policy and it's backing to anti-secession law, " he said while speaking at weekly news briefing here Tuesday.
The spokesman said a number of countries in the world fully supported China's position on the question of Taiwan. The anti-secession law, he explained was conductive to peace and development in the region.
Liu said "We consider the opposition to this law as an interference in the internal affairs of China."
While answering a question on USA's reservations on the law, he said. "Those opposing China's stand on this issue, does not understand the contents and the spirit of the law."
Another Chinese official while defending the Anti-secession law said "No sovereign state will tolerate any secessionist activities that sabotage national unity," and added it was "Taiwan independence" secessionist forces that posed a grave threat to peace and stability across the Taiwan Straits as well as the Asia-Pacific region.
