Major General Jia Xinoning has underlined the importance of strengthening friendship and co-operation particularly in defence sector between Pakistan and China. He was leading the six-member Chinese defence delegations that held meeting with Senior Federal Minister and Minister for Defence, Rao Sikandar Iqbal, here on Tuesday. Both sides discussed the current level of co-operation and expressed satisfaction over existing friendly and co-operative ties between the government and people of both Pakistan and China in different fields including defence and defence production.
The Minister told the visiting delegation that Pakistan highly valued Chinese support and co-operation and relations between the two countries were time-tested and enduring.
The Minister further stated that China and Pakistan shared common perceptions on regional and International Security and strategic issues.
The Chinese side said that co-operation between Pakistan and China was critical for peace and stability in the region. Major General JIA Xinoning stated that it was imperative to further strengthen the friendship and co-operation between the two countries.
He thanked the government of Pakistan for extending warm welcome and hospitality to him and members of the delegation.
Besides the minister Rear Admiral Ahsan-ul-Haq Chaudhry, Additional Secretary and other senior officials of the Ministry of Defence also attended.
