A few months back a Bangladeshi footpath trolley vendor was arrested and taken to court for short weighing. The Bahraini customer stated since long he used to buy fish from the vendor but when one day on doubt he checked the fish was one and a half kilo instead of two.
A reader commented on it that all Bangladeshi and Indian Kerala vendors keep their weighing machines wrapped in shopping bags and the scale is always towards themselves and not towards the customers. It was really a very good observation.
These vendors only the other day I observed were using pound scale and not the kilo scale. For two kilos if a customer has a chance to see reaches 4 the vendor gives you as if two kgs whereas it is about one and a half kilo.
Would the concerned authority tell the readers why these vendors are using pound scale.?
