Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz has assured the business community that he himself will persuade the foreign airlines to restart their operations from Pakistan. The chairman, Aviation Committee, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), Mohammed Yahya Polani, told Business Recorder that the prime minister had given this assurance during his recent meeting with the FPCCI delegation in Islamabad.
He said that Lufthansa, Swissair, British Air, KLM, Japan Air, Singapore Air, etc, have stopped their operations from Pakistan.
Only a few foreign airlines, including Thai Air, Cathay, and Malaysian airlines are operating.
He said that Royal Jordanian Airline has agreed to continue its operation from Karachi.
Regarding Airblue, he said that it has started daily trip for the children of low-income group between Karachi and Nawabshah.
He said that this is a remarkable scheme to provide a chance to those who otherwise don't have a chance to fly.
