The Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) has sharply criticised the increase in petroleum prices for second time in a month and said that such increasing trend in POL prices would further add to the cost of production of industries especially the export oriented ones. PTA Chairman Khawaja M Yousuf said in a statement here on Wednesday that increase in cost of production due to petrol prices would render the Pakistani products non-competitive in global market.
He said that despite continuous appeals and protests lodged by common people, transporters and businessmen, the POL prices were being enhanced time and again.
It seems that the Government has no realistic policy to mitigate the grievances of the masses, he said adding that it was not known where the prices would stand in future.-PR
