I congratulate the administration of the Daily "Business Recorder" which has decided to issue special report a Textile Industries. You are aware that Ministry of Textile Industry which is newly established in Pakistani with the aims to solve problems and remove grievances facing by the Textile Sector in quality production and Global Marketing.
Textile Ministry is working on a policy to promote Public - Private Sector partnership for development of Textile Industries. Private Sector is playing a very vital role in the economy of the Country by Providing Jobs to masses and earning foreign exchange through export at 67% exports comprise Textile Products.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that Pakistan has achieved economic sovereignty under the able leadership of President General Musharraf and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz. The establishment of Textile Ministry was great decision of present Government as this was an old demand of the Textile Industry.
It is also a matter of great satisfaction that the Textile Sector has invested around $4 Billion in upgrading all sub-sectors of Textile Industry and preparing itself ready for availing the opportunities provided by free quota regime.
I hope that the publication of the special report in the Daily Business Recorder on Textile Sector will be a useful document on its activities and future strategies which will provide a long way for building Pakistan's image in the world market and will help bring foreign investment in all sphere of Pakistan's economy especially in Textile Sector.
