People who had deals with dictators in past had caused undaunted damage to the country resulting in an alarming poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and lack of basic facilities to masses, said Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) (PML-N) senior vice president Syed Zafar Ali Shah here on Monday. While talking to reporters Shah said: "There will be no deal of the PML with the present government working under a dictator, and no party or individual believes in democracy and political freedom would have any deal with Musharraf."
He said it was for the first time in Pakistan history that a doctrine of having no deal with the military dictators was given by Mian Nawaz Sharif. It was for the best of the nation, democracy and political freedom of Pakistan and Pakistanis that a line should be drawn to stop the martial law, he said.
At present, political struggle of opposition was for that noble cause, he said adding the government was making efforts to divide opposition but they would never succeed.
Syed Zafar Ali Shah dispelled the impression of any confrontation between the two Sharifs (Mian Nawaz Sharif and Mian Shahbaz Sharif), saying both the leaders were running party affairs with consultation and there was no reason to have confrontation. "It is brain child of the puppets in present regime who are feeling ashamed due to their character. They are guilty and wants to save their faces", he added.
Responding to a question about general elections in Pakistan, Zafar Ali Shah said it was unpredicted to say anything in Pakistan. "In a country, where dictatorship is continue with all its force, an unconstitutional government is functioning under a dictator and the country is living in complete uncertainty, one cannot predict anything", he said. "It is possible the election would held in 2005 and it is also possible that no election would held in Pakistan for years," he added.
Criticising the role of Shaukat Aziz, the PML leader said he had guided Pakistan towards economic uncertainty where people had no other option to commit suicide or indulge in criminal activities.
"It is unfortunate that a non-political person is running a political set-up. He is completely a puppet in hands of a dictator. It is nothing but a mockery that a rickshaw driver was asked to fly aircraft", he added.
The PML-N leader called the present government a complete failure and said it had failed to deliver, and the country was put on a path of uncertainty, which would have dangerous impacts if not addressed in time.
