National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has arrested an impersonator, showing himself as NAB's Captain and black mailing the innocent people. According to a NAB press release issued here on Friday, the accused Zahid Mehmood was black mailing a retired PTCL's officer Yemanullah Khan by showing himself as NAB (Sindh) officer. The fake NAB officer told Yemanullah Khan that a case against him is under process and he can dispose off the case if he (Yemanullah Khan) greased his palm.
Yemanullah Khan informed the situation to NAB (Sindh). A secret inquiry was carried out to confirm the authenticity of the information. On confirmation Yemanullah was told to meet the accused and fulfill his demand.
The accused was called by the complainant at a restaurant in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, for taking illegal gratification. After the finalisation of deal and payment of Rs 40,000 the NAB Sindh authorities along with civil police arrested the accused red-handed, while he was taking money and handed him over to Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station.
