Sindh government presented a cheque of 10 million to Amjad Sabri’s family for financial expenditures which would be utilized for education and health of his children. Famous Qawal Amjad Sabri was shot dead when unknown gunmen opened fire on his car. This attack took place in Liaqatabad area of Karachi. The unfortunate incident has shocked everyone around the globe.
According to local media report; On behalf of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Shamim Mumtaz presented a cheque of Rs 10 million to family of Shaheed Amjad Sabri at his home. On that occasion Amjad Sabri’s brother thanked the Sindh government especially Chairman PPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and PPP President, Asif Ali Zardari and Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah. He hoped that government of Sindh would also materialize other promises.
Shamim Mumtaz said that Amjad Sabri was world renowned Qawal and his voice was matchless. There is no substitute of human life but the amount provided by the Sindh government to the family would be utilized for the education, health and other expenditures of Shaheed Amjad Sabri’s children. The minister further said government of Sindh will provide job to the wife of Shaheed Amjad Sabri, if she is qualified, otherwise Sabri’s brother would be provided a job because Sabri’s children are underage.
She continues by saying that government of Sindh has fulfilled one of its promises by providing monetary assistance on the directions of CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah.
Most respectable personality Shaheed Amjad Sabri was the face of Qawwali music. He has brought many laurels and honours. He also brought the entire nation close to God through his soulful voice. It is indeed disheartening for every Pakistani and the loss is immeasurable.
