A team from the African Cricket Association (ACA) is to arrive here this week to investigate the chaos that has enveloped the governing of the sport in Kenya, local officials said Wednesday. The four-strong delegation, led by the ACA's Zimbabwean president Peter Chingoka, is to arrive in Nairobi on Friday to meet the two rival parties involved in a bitter dispute over the running of Kenyan cricket.
The committee was appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) at its board meeting in New Dehli earlier this month to seek a resolution to the impasse and will be assisted by ICC vice-president Percy Sonn.
Officials from the disbanded Kenya Cricket Association (KCA) who are fighting their January dismissal by sports minister Ochilo Ayacko for alleged mismanagement welcomed the intervention.
