Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asif Ali Zardari said that for the rights of masses, restoration of democracy and prevalence of the Constitution they would enter into a dialogue with the government. Addressing a press conference at Bilawal House-II here on Sunday, Zardari said, "it is now time for dialogue." Makhdoom Ameen Faheem, Qasim Zia, Khalid Kharal, Sherry Rehman, Sajida Mir and a large number of workers were present on the occasion. The PPP leader demanded fresh elections in the country in 2005. Talking about the role of armed forces, he said it was a reality and they wanted to take the force along with them.
When asked about the role of President Pervez Musharraf after new government set up after fresh elections as per the PPP demand, Zardari said parliament would decide about that.
Talking about the impartiality in new elections, the PPP leader posed question that people, who did not allow them to hold a rally, how would they allow holding clean and fair elections in the country.
He criticised the double standard of the government and said Muttehida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) was allowed to hold rallies, while the PPP was not being permitted to do the same.
Talking about the failure of present set-up, the PPP leader said three prime ministers had been brought and preparation of the fourth one was being planned now.
"Certain people with wrong perceptions have gone astray and are misleading the nation," he added.
Asif Ali Zardari said that in prevailing situation Baloch and Pushtoon were feeling uneasy and they were slamming the role of Punjab, as the governments policies were not favourable, which deprived the people of their basic rights.
"But, I have come into Punjab by taking slogan of saving Pakistan," he claimed.
Zardari said that the present rulers do not like to save the country.
He vowed to take the case of PPP arrested workers in the courts, as well as the issues would be raised on the assemblies to get them released.
Criticising people in assemblies, he said that they had short- term agenda and no concrete solution with them.
Lamenting the government performance in economy, he said it was dismal, adding that dollar was being bought one rupee expensive by the present government from open market.
