National Assembly Speaker Choudhary Amir Hussain has underscored the need of creating awareness about the true values and countering the misconceptions about Islam globally. Talking to a group of journalists here on Saturday, he added that it was unfortunate that the Muslims failed in presenting true picture of Islam worldwide as a result of which ambiguity had been developed about Islam in western countries. However, he expressed the optimism that Muslim scholars could play an instrumental role in this regard to defuse the misconceptions about Islam.
Choudary Amir Hussain said that Islam was religion of peace, brotherhood and tolerance. He strongly condemned the brutality against mankind and said that linking the terrorism with Islam was totally wrong which based on misunderstandings.
The NA speaker said that collective efforts were direly needed for highlighting golden principles and teachings of Islam restoring the confidence of the people in the worldwide.
He called upon ulema to work for the elimination of politics from mosques and help improving the image of Pakistan internationally.
He said the government had taken numerous measures for weeding out the terrorism from gross root level and added that nobody would be allowed to use territories of Pakistan for terrorists' activities.
The Speaker said that in order to represent Pakistan at international level a common and unified approach must be exercised at this juncture for enhancing the prestige and image of the country adding that split thinking enervate the entreaty of the country.
He said the government was making hectic efforts for further improving the local bodies system, adding that the local bodies elections would be held during July this year in the country.
Lauding the role of district government system, he said that record development projects had been completed by the district governments besides held resolve peoples problems at local level throughout the country.
