The Karachi Port handled 31,809 tonnes of cargo including 18,451 tonnes import and 13,358 tonnes export cargo inclusive of 1,676 containers, during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The cargo comprised of 24,209 tonnes dry cargo including 15,971 tonnes general cargo; 5,476 tonnes rice; 912 tonnes cement; 1,850 tonnes rock phosphate and 7,600 tonnes oil/Liquid cargo. Six ships namely Iran Hesabi, Kota Waris, Rinkenis, Ocean Emperor, Shimakaze and Islamabad sailed out to sea during the report period.
Four vessels viz Kota Waris, Kota Indah, Arkaan and Chemstar King are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Kota Indah, Aquarius Leader and Lady Nuhad expected to sail on Tuesday, while Gao He is expected to sail on Wednesday.
Two vessels viz Sinar Java and Mercs Sajinda due to arrive on Tuesday, while seven ships namely Pacific Sound, Sagamore, Cape Ferro, Hyundai Stride, YM Moon, Dina Queen and Tyhi are due to arrive on Wednesday.
The cargo comprised of 4,389 tonnes chemicals; 7,490 tonnes edible oil; 11,485 tonnes coal; 212 tonnes general cargo and 36,516 tonnes containerised cargo.
Two ships namely Hotaka Maru and MT Matina sailed out to sea during last 24 hours, while three more vessels viz Maersk Alaska, MV Anjum and Sinar Sabang are expected to sail on the same Tuesday.
No vessels are currently at the outer anchorage.
MT Warbah due to arrive on Tuesday, while three more ships namely MV Min Noble, CV Oranje and Contship Indigo are due to arrive on Wednesday.
