President, Karachi Electronic Dealers Association, Abdul Waheed Memon has urged the government to withdraw cases against arrested office-bearers of the association and release them. Addressing a press conference at his office on Wednesday, he threatened that if government did not respond to their demand all electronic markets will be closed from April 23, 2005 for an indefinite period. He alleged that the police acted in a pre-planned way on Tuesday against office bearers of the association and arrested them.
He also alleged that the police treated electronic dealers as habitual criminals and during police operation they pointed arms on electronic dealers.
Replying to a question, he said that the governor and chief minister have assured us that justice will be done to electronic dealers and office bearers of the association. The association chief alleged that police took away around 200 mobile phones from different shops out of which they returned only 35 mobiles phones.
