Karachi and Mumbai World Trade Centres have agreed to extend co-operation to each other through exchange of professional experience and business opportunities for industrial and technological advancement for the benefit of the two countries. This was disclosed during the recent World Trade Centres Association Spring Meeting held in Mumbai, India. The agreement to extend co-operation to each other stems from the charter of the World Trade Centres Association, which emphasises on fostering peace through trade and business exchanges.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamal Morarka, President of World Trade Centre Mumbai and member parliament said, "this agreement provides impetus to the on going peace process between the two countries and would go a long way in fostering economic ties."
The agreement envisages exchange of professional experience and business opportunities for industrial and technological advancement to the benefit of the two countries in addition to extending support of courses and conferences held in Mumbai and Karachi.
The World Trade Centre Mumbai has also agreed to provide full co-operation for the promotion of trade fairs and exhibitions.
Shahid Firoz, President World Trade Centre Karachi said, "we are particularly pleased with this development.
The World Trade Centre (Expo City Project) will provide a range of activities focused around an exhibition and fair grounds where exhibitions and fairs of international scale and standard could be staged. It includes a convention centre, a business area, a teleport, a mall and entertainment centre in addition to parking facility for 8000 cars.
The project would be the first of its kind and a launching platform for economic activities.
Guy F. Tozzoli, President WTC Association, Kamal Morarka, MP and President WTC Mumbai, Vijay Kalantri, Vice President WTC Mumbai and Captain Somesh Batra, Director WTC Mumbai were also present at the signing ceremony.-PR
