Various religious organisations have made elaborate arrangements to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi on Friday, 12th of Rabi-ul-Awwal, with zeal and religious fervour. Important buildings, mosques and other religious places have been profusely illuminated with colourful lights, buntings and festoons. Almost all the mosques have been whitewashed and given new looks. Mostly green and golden colours have been used to adorn minarets.
Highlight of the programmes include a procession that would be taken out under the banner of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat Pakistan, Karachi, from Memon Masjid Bolton Market at 3:30 pm and after passing through M. A Jinnah Road it would conclude at Nishtar Park. Leading religious scholars will participate in Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi conference to be held at Nishtar Park after Asar prayers.
Allama Shah Turabul Huq Qadri, Haji Mohammed Hanif Tayyab, Haji Mohammed Hanif Billo, Maulana Abrar Ahmed Rehmani and prominent Shia leaders will lead the procession.
The provincial police administration has taken tight security measures to facilitate the procession in its movement from the Bolton Market to the Nishtar Park and subsequently holding of the conference. Policemen in plain clothes will be deployed at all the sensitive points to keep vigil and thwart any untoward happening. Rangers would be available for assistance to the police. City District Government has issued instructions to its sanitary staff to keep the city clean on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. Similar instructions have been issued to KESC to check on power breakdown and KWSB to make uninterrupted water supply to all the areas.
