Thai rubber futures ended flat on Monday with only a handful players active in a directionless market, brokers said. Overall volume was very thin as 32 contracts of ribbed smoked sheet number three (RSS3) were traded, the same as on Friday. The most active August contract settled steady at 50.3 baht per kg, with the number of contracts traded falling to 18 from Friday's 22.
"There was no fresh news to move prices and most players shifted to speculate on another commodities such as rice," said one broker. "Some players adjusted their positions on deferred contracts."
Prices were expected to move in a narrow range of 50.1-50.4 baht per kg as diminished supply prevented them from dropping significantly, brokers said.
