I heartily welcome VVIPs' guests, members of the Central and Managing Committees of PRGMEA to 7th Export Excellence Awards Ceremony being held in Lahore. This is the seventh event which has been organised to commemorate the achievements of the textile value added sector products "woven readymade garments" by honouring top exporters at country level and those having excelled either in having obtained highest FOB value of their share of exports of respective textile category items.
Became top earner of non-category items(s) total value in a year or able to collect foreign exchange by obtaining the highest FOB value of a non-quota category.
Last but not the least an exporter is also to be presented trophy for being a leading exporter of ladies traditional dresses including bridal-wear.
2004 was the last year when international multi-fibre agreement has been replaced with World Trade Organisation new procedures of freeing textile quota restraints globally and all countries of the world are at liberty to export / import their requirements of consumables, machinery, equipment technical know-how liberally on favourable terms of trade without any controls / restrictions from the Government of any country of the global village.
This has provided an opportunity to the trade and industry to produce, manufacture qualitative and competitive products to successfully market and obtain Pakistan's trade share in the international arena.
The need is for close consultation, guidance, facilitating availability of genuine concessions by the Government / regulatory agencies friendly behaviour, internal markets up and down situations forecasts, our trade officers activities in their respective jurisdiction areas, trade options, and accurate data so that the exporting community keep the country flag flying at the economic front and earn foreign exchange for the country for its needs.
The colourful Award Ceremony will be conducive to increase in production activities and professionally marketing of textile value added products internationally. Prayers are that every Pakistan citizen should endeavour performing his responsibilities in respective field to the best and Almighty Allah may shower blessings on all of us and Pakistan which resources becomes prosperous and the citizens feel proud of being its nationals.
