Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan has said that dictators can not be reformers of society as their interest inherently clash with a democratic society that rest on credible institutions. Reacting on President General Musharraf's statement to the formation commanders' conference, stating that the reforms process would continue beyond 2007, he said that the statement was a clear indicator that General Musharraf had no intentions to quit power even in 2007.
He said what kind of reforms process was General Musharraf talking about when despite 6 years of absolute power the government had failed to provide safe drinking water to the people.
The PTI chief said scores of people had been killed in Hyderabad, Jacubabad and other parts of country due to have poisonous water and no one had been held accountable, a statement issued by the PTI said here on Wednesday.
The PTI Chief lamented that we have a long list of military dictators who in an attempt to cling on to power coin doctrines and justify policies to perpetuate their rule.
The latest slogan of General Musharraf is 'enlightened moderation.' What is enlightened about making alliances with the most crooked politicians and pursuing the regressive economic policies, he questioned.
He warned that all those political parties that join hands with the government would be exposed.
Imran Khan predicted a clear political divide based on ideology.
He said on the one side would be opportunist politicians joining hands for power with the sinking ship of dictatorship and on the other side would be political parties fighting for the rights of the people to make Pakistan a free and sovereign nation whose citizens can live in dignity and enjoy the fruits of economic progress.
