Heavy police contingent barged into the residence of former federal minister Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Awan on Wednesday morning to arrest his son Gulrez Awan. Reportedly, raiding police party searched the entire building, remained there for two hours and humiliated the female inmates. Police failed to find the wanted man, Gulrez Awan, and took his servant Allah Rakha in the custody. The Punjab home secretary issued the detention orders.
Gulrez Awan told Business Recorder on phone that his father Malik Mukhtar Ahmed Awan had already been in prison for 90 days and the police were trying to arrest him on similar charges.
According to him the police humiliated his wife, mother and minor children during the untimely raid.
