The privatisation process of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has built up tremendous momentum in this transaction with bidders actively engaging PTCL in queries and receiving suitable responses. It was observed in a meeting of the inter-ministerial committee constituted by the Prime Minister held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of federal minister for privatisation and investment Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.
The committee is constituted in order to facilitate the privatisation process, to review the enabling legislative framework and to promote investment in the telecom sector.
The meeting reviewed the proposed changes to the enabling legislation and took decisions to finalise these in order to facilitate the privatisation and investment process of the telecom sector.
The meeting was attended by members of the committee, minister for information technology, minister for communications, minister for law, justice and human rights division.
