Former Prime Minister and PML-N chief, Mian Nawaz Sharif has called for closer understanding between all democratic forces including ARD and MMA for launching joint struggle for restoration of true democracy in the country. He was talking to the central MMA leader and Amir Jammat Ahle Hadith (JAH), Senator Professor Sajid Mir who called on him in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia during his visit to the Kingdom.
Nawaz Sharif ruled out any compromise with President General Pervez Musharraf and vowed that PML-N along with other democratic forces of the country would continue their struggle for restoration of true democracy in the country.
He made it clear that military had nothing to do either with running affairs of the country or indulging in politics. Military's only responsibility was defending borders of the country. He reiterated that military should go back to its barracks to concentrate on purely professional responsibilities.
He accused President Musharraf and his companions of damaging professional capabilities of the military by indulging it in the politics to prolong their unrepresentative rule. He also accused ruler for opting U-Turn on Kashmir, nuclear and other vital issues.
He also flayed present rulers for usurping his right to get his passport renewed.
