Chief Executive Officer TATA Consultancy Services, Subramanian Ramadorai on Sunday invited Pakistani IT, financial, textile and other institutes to earn benefit from the TCS experiences and expand their respective industry through TCS's generated global business practices. S. Ramadorai, who is also Chairman National Association of Software and Service Companies (NASCOM), was speaking to journalists prior to a reception hosted in honour of visiting Indian delegation by Pakistan Software Houses Association (Pasha) here at a local hotel.
The TCS delegation, after meeting Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Illahi and IT/business tycoons in Lahore, is due to meet Dr Ishrat Husain, Governor State Bank of Pakistan, to asses areas for synergy in Karachi.
"Our visit is not aimed at exploiting Pakistani market but we are here to establish long-term relationship with software companies," S. Ramadorai explained in response to a question.
"Yes joint ventures are possible but production of graduates is essential", he said citing his meeting with academicians from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS).
S. Ramadorai said that for any joint ventures it was necessary that input being provided be clear. "Both sides should communicate to pave way for major developments."
Briefing on services rendered by the TCS, its CEO apprised that being part of TATA Group, the Consultancy Service was present in 33 countries and 6 of 10 most fortune companies were enjoying from its benefits in banking, finance, telecom, manufacturing and other fields.
S. Ramadorai supported the ongoing CBM's between Pakistan and India saying that people to people communication is mandatory to promote commerce.
When his attention was drawn to IT status in Pakistan, the TCS CEO affirmed, "the number of IT companies here is competitive, they can contribute here and abroad alike."
Srivanasan Raman, Head Programme Planning and Evaluation, EVP Human Resource Development S. Padmanabhan and Girja Prasad Pande, Regional Director, Asia Pacific TCS are also accompanying S. Ramadorai.
