Punjab Minister for Water and Power Armughan Subhani has said that effective measures had been taken to solve the problems being faced by the industrial workers in the province. Addressing a labour convention held in connection with the May Day here on Sunday, he added that labour colonies and hospitals were being constructed in various industrial towns aimed providing shelter and medical facilities to the workers and their dependants at their doorstep.
He said that the labourers were playing an instrumental role in strengthening the national economy and keeping in view their services the government was making all out efforts for providing maximum facilities to them.
On this occasion the minister stressed upon the labourers to work with full devotion for further accelerating the pace of industrial development in the province.
Earlier, a large number of women and industrial workers of various industrial units participated in a rally to celebrate the May Day.
