The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) has finalised rules and regulations for the establishment of housing colonies in its jurisdiction and warned developers to get their projects approved before launching publicity campaigns. FDA sources stated that in the light of the government's instructions, it had been made mandatory for the developers to acquire a minimum of 160 kanals for a colony, mark seven percent of the total land for parks, open spaces and two percent for graveyards. He said a maximum of five per cent could be commercialised while maximum size of a plot would be 1,000 square meters.
He said the developers would have to provide two to ten percent for public buildings while minimum 30-feet roads should be constructed in colonies.
He said the developers had been asked to submit all the required documents with the applications for getting final approval from the FDA so that their cases could be processed expeditiously. He asked the public not to invest in any of the housing schemes unless approved by the FDA. Legal action would be taken against those who would launch their schemes prior to the approval, warned FDA sources.
