Sindh Minister for Planning and Development Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari here on Monday laid the foundation stone of conversion of a B-type Rural Health Centre into a 36-bed A type centre. The construction work for the upgraded centre will include an emergency centre, store, operation theatre, laboratory, labour room, nursing room administration block etc. The centre will be constructed over an area of 13,275 sq. ft at a cost of Rs 44.694 million. MPA Mahmood Alam Jamote and former provincial minister Shafi Mohammed Jamote were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the ceremony, Shoaib Bukhari said: "Muttahida Qaumi Movement believes in actions and realities - a philosophy propagated by its chief Altaf Hussain." He said: MQM has always followed politics for service to people and is carrying out development activities not only in the urban areas but equally in the rural areas of Sindh." He held out an assurance that construction of the long pending Ibrahim Hyderi college will be started immediately and those responsible for its delay would be held accountable.
