The Senate Standing Committee on Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on Monday considered the report of the sub-committee on Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973. The committee, which met under the chairmanship of Senator Dr Khalid Ranjha in the Parliament House appreciated the excellent job done by sub-committee headed by Senator Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar Bhinder recommending amendments in the Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973. The committee decided to hold detailed deliberations on Legal Practitioners and Bar Councils Act, 1973 in its next meeting to be held on May 12, 2005.
The meeting was attended besides the chairman of the committee Senator Dr Khalid Ranjha and Minister of State for Law, Justice and Human Rights, Chaudhry Shahid Akram Bhinder by Senators Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, S. M. Zafar, Farooq, Hamid Naek and Justice Abdul Razzaq Thahim (Retd).
