The Lahore High Court (LHC) disposed of a petition filed by 13 PPPP activists praying their bail, as the respondent government has withdrawn their detention orders. The petitioners had approached the court against their detention orders. He prayed to the court to declare their detention as illegal, unconstitutional and without lawful authority. The court disposed off the petition, when the law officer informed the court that the respondent government has withdrawn their detention orders.
PROCEEDINGS PUT OFF:
The Lahore High Court (LHC) put off proceedings in a petition filed by former federal minister, Jehangir Badr praying to the court to direct the respondent accountability court to allow him to produce more witnesses.
The court adjourned the proceedings when the petitioner's counsel concluded his arguments. The law officer will submit his submissions on May 4.
Meanwhile, an accountability court adjourned the proceedings in a reference against the accused Jehangir Badr.
The petitioner is facing the charges of corruption and making illegal assets in excess of his income. He has also been facing the charges of misusing his office as federal minister.
