Tunisia's state Office des Cereales has purchased 25,000 tonnes of durum wheat and 25,000 tonnes of barley at a tender that closed on Wednesday, European traders said. The wheat was Syrian origin and priced at 128 euros a tonne fob. The seller was said to be the Syrian state grains agency. The barley was priced at $146.75 tonne c&f. Origin was unclear but thought to be from European Union intervention stocks. One trader said the Syrian price was equivalent to $166 a tonne fob, which was fairly low.
