Developmental works completed during the tenure of present government are unprecedented with its no match in the past, as the government is fulfilling its promises made with the people. Speaker Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal Sahi, stated this while addressing a large public gathering on the occasion of inaugurating the scheme for the provision of Sui gas with a cost of Rs 170 million to ten villages in the adjoining areas of Chak Jhumra, some 20 kms from here.
Ansar Baryal MPA, Tehsil Nazim Chaudhry Fawwad Ahmad Cheema and elite of the area were also present on this occasion.
Afzal Sahi said that all the promises made by Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi, during his last visit to this area had been fulfilled, provision of sui gas to ten village being a part of the chain.
He assured that gas would be provided to another ten villages of the area in the next phase.
In the past there were only two high schools in the area while now four colleges had been under construction and new campus of G C University was also proposed to be set up here, he added.
He said that at present 95 percent villages of the area were enjoying the facilities of electricity, telephone, roads and other such facilities.
The Speaker said that textile cities were being set up in Lahore & Faisalabad and resultantly one million people would get jobs opportunities. He expressed the hope that with the setting up of textile city in Chak Jhumra the fate of this area would be changed.
It would not only provide job opportunities to the people but would pave a way for large investment and infrastructure development in the area, as well.
All this would bring prosperity, economic uplift and development in the area and the people would get jobs and business opportunities near their homes.
Speaker Sahi said that Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Pervaiz Ellahi would visit this area in the near future to announce more facilities for the area people.
Tehsil Nazim, lauded the efforts of the Punjab Speaker and said he had rendered valuable services for the development of this area, that was why the people called him as "Sher Shah Soori" of the time, he added. He said that Chak Jhumra would be made a 'Model Tehsil' of the province. Naib Nazim, Chaudhry Tariq Mahmood also spoke on the occasion.
