A 109-member trade delegation of exporters, industrialists, businessmen, and traders left for Kashgar to take part in Kashgar Trade Expo "Kashgar Central, South Asian Economic, Trade and Commodities", the biggest trade exhibition of Southeast Asia. The exhibition starts in this Chinese Industrial city from May 10 and culminates on May 12, in which Pakistan traders from different cities of the country would display Pakistani products to introduce them in Chinese market and earn a good market space in China and other South Asian countries taking part in the expo.
Before taking flight for China from Islamabad International Airport, the trade delegation members gathered in Rawalpindi as the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) was declared to co-sponsor the expo and facilitating businessmen taking part in this industrial exhibition.
The business leaders were enthusiastic and determined to introduce Pakistani products in Chinese market.
Syed Asif Ali, Chief Executive of Tehzeeb Group of Industries, and one of the participants of the exhibition, while talking to reporters at Islamabad Airport, said that Kashgar is likely to emerge as hub of trade and economic activities in this region, and Pakistan should be the first to benefit from this future trade centre.
He said that Kashgar would soon turn into a gateway to Central and South Asia, adding that business leaders have to play their due role during this tour to China and help further cementing the historical Sino-Pak friendship and enhance the trade relations.
He said that RCCI is leading the delegation, comprising the members of Hazara, Azad Jammu Kashmir, Faisalabad, Peshawar, Gujranwala, Karachi, and other chambers taking part in this grand fair, adding the RCCI made all arrangements for the departure of delegates in the capacity of sole co-sponsor of the fair in Pakistan.
Asif said that more than 50 companies of Rawalpindi region would take part in this expo and it would be a great breakthrough for the industrial sector of this region.
"We are busy in making efforts for the industrialisation of the Rawalpindi region and events like Kashgar Expo would prove encouraging factor for the entrepreneurs", he added.
Although it is a three-day exhibition, but it is expected that lakhs of people would visit this exhibition, he said, adding that above all the industrialists, importers and business community of China and other participating countries have eye on Pakistani products.
Asif Ali, who is member of RCCI Standing Committee on WTO, said that the participation in the Kashgar Expo would not have commercial purpose, but it would be an opportunity to display Pakistani products in Chinese market. "This event would help increase the trade volume between two countries and provide opportunities to business community of two sides to get benefits from the markets of the two countries", he said.
The government, he said, should encourage the business community taking part in such events in order to get a good market space in international market. "Once we succeeded in getting attention of more than 1 billion population China, we will have enough market to export our products", he added.
