Producers have sold 51 percent of Brazil's 2004/05 soyabean crop by May 6, down from the 61 percent of the crop sold by this week in 2004, analysts Safras e Mercado said on Friday. Brazilian soya producers have on average sold 55 percent of their crop by this week in recent years. Safras estimated the current crop at 50.84 million tonnes in its latest forecast released earlier this week. Growers in Brazil's No 1 soyabean producing state of Mato Grosso have sold 65 percent of their crop, compared with 74 percent at this time last year. The state is the most advanced in terms of soya crop sales.
No 2 soya state Parana has only sold 29 percent of its crop down sharply from 49 percent a year ago, the report said.
