A two-member bench of the Supreme Court Tuesday dismissed eleven petitions filed by candidates for the posts of Additional District and Session Judges against Lahore High Court terming them non-maintainable under Article 184 (3). The Bench of the Apex Court comprising Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and Justice Rana Bhagwandas dismissed all the eleven petitions and directed petitioners to approach proper forum for remedy, which was the concerned High Court.
Eleven candidates for the posts of Additional District and Session Judges challenged executive orders of the Registrar of the Lahore High Court regarding their appointments' matter in the Apex Court.
Malik Aazim Rasool Advocate represented LHC. Amir Aalim Khan Advocate, Malik Qayyum Advocate, Aabid Hassan Manto Advocate and Talat Farooq Advocate represented the petitioners.
