The PML workers have called upon Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi to take immediate steps against double-faced and so-called party leaders, who are involved in creating split in party in Sialkot district. According to a survey conducted by Business Recorder the party high-ups, including the PML chief never bothered to visit Sialkot for assessing the ups and downs with the party as a result of which a mushroom growth of self-styled leaders were posing themselves as top brass leaders of the PML.
Within a couple of days, the government would announce the schedule of local bodies elections in the country, and interested candidates for certain seats had initiated their election campaign and one can hear hissing sounds in every nook and corner of the district.
Apart from this, the present District Nazim Sialkot seen busy in highlighting the achievements of his tenure, but on the other hand certain quarters, including the opposition members of district assembly termed it a "swan song".
Besides, certain political quarters were demanding the accountability of the present Nazims and stopping them to utilise the people's funds before the local bodies elections.
It was very clear that nobody had taken the pain for strengthening the Pakistan Muslim League (PML) in the Sialkot district and Nazims remained busy in their self-projection and nobody dare to project the government in a proper way in Sialkot district.
Some elements within the PML were trying to weaken the party and busy in forging the groups just for their personal gains just to grab top seats in upcoming LB elections in the district.
According to the people's viewpoint, the District Nazim did nothing for the betterment of the common man, but introduced politics of "liking and disliking" as a result of which people were still facing hardships besides several union councils had been deprived of development funds.
They alleged that huge development fund was used on education sector, but there are still a large number of schools in Sialkot district, where no basic facilities were provided.
Furthermore, the people of the area appealed to the PML president and other high-ups to take step for protecting and strengthening the party on top priority basis. They also appealed to the provincial chief minister for taking appropriate steps for assessing the utilisation of development funds and monitor the development projects in Sialkot district before the local bodies elections.
