The ruling Pakistan Muslim League President Chaudhary Shujaat Hussain has said that former Sindh Minister Imtiaz Sheikh will remain in the party, however, he added that it was the authority of party president to sack any of the ministers. Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday in the Parliament House on the issue of Sindh Muslim League, he said the inquiry committee found the allegations levelled by the Chief Minister Sindh against sacked minister Imtiaz Sheikh baseless.
He said the preliminary inquiry report of the committee has been received and in it Imtiaz Sheikh declared innocent. He said then there was no need of final report.
To a question, he said Chief Minister could sack the minister from the cabinet but not from the party. He made it clear that Imtiaz Sheikh would remain in the party. He was of the view that that was the right of the party president to sack someone or otherwise.
Chaudhary Shujaat further said there were no differences between him and the former Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali. He said the issue of differences between him and Jamali was not an issue. He termed media reports in that regard as baseless. 'I was misquoted by the media', Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain clarified.
To a question, he rejected the impression of lack of contacts in the party adding party was fully intact and important decisions were being taken mutually.
To another query, he said the matters with Bugti on Sui have been resolved and then there was a need to implement the decisions taken mutually.
