Under the directives of the Punjab chief minister all district price control committees are being made more effective and purposeful in the province. Official sources told Business Recorder on Tuesday that the step has been taken for activating the district price control committees enabling them to maintain the prices of articles of daily use in the province. The price checking system was being made more effective for edging out the tendency of hoarding and price hike aimed at ensuring availability of articles of daily use in sufficient quantity as well as to keep the prices of commodities of daily use at reasonable rates in all districts of the province, sources added.
