President General Pervez Musharraf on Wednesday visited various units of the Army Strategic Forces here. He was received by Lieutenant General Ghulam Mustafa, Commander, Army Strategic Forces Command. He remained with the force for sometime during which he was briefed about the progress and achievements of the force and various other professional matters. Later, he also addressed the officers and men of Sargodha Garrison.
The President in his address said that officers and men of Army Strategic Force since its establishment, through sheer determination, commitment to the cause and unflinching faith, have created a potent nuclear force, equipped with a wide variety of missiles, controlled through an elaborate and fail-safe command and control system.
President General Pervez Musharraf, addressing the officers and men commended the remarkable progress made by the force, which provides credible minimum nuclear deterrence, thus ensuring a balance of power, which is very important for peace in the region. Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Ehsan ul Haq and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
