Three dacoits were killed in an encounter with police after snatching a car here on Tuesday. Two policemen also received injuries in the shootout. One of the dacoits was later identified as Muhammad Amin. According to details, the dacoits snatched a car from Sajid from Allam Iqbal Town and fled towards Faisal Town area. A police party present nearby on emergency call made a chase and on reaching near Jhorapul was fired upon by dacoits. During exchange of fire, two dacoits were killed on the spot while two policemen, Iftikhar and Asghar, received injuries.
Third dacoit, who received serious wounds, succumbed to injuries and died later on in the hospital. Police also recovered stolen car.
